The view: From this room, you can fully appreciate Castel dell’Ovo (the “Castle of the Egg”) in the middle of the Gulf. This is the oldest castle in town and, according to the legend, was built on the site where the mermaid Partenope died after being rejected by Ulysses and where poet Virgil put an egg, which conditioned the entire destiny of the city through the centuries. At the bottom of the castle, there is Borgo Marinaro, a very picturesque area full of restaurants and bars.
